Kira Wel Gin
Based on the popular novel “1919” by Ahmed Mourad, the action film Kira Wel Gin became a massive success at the box office upon its release, earning up to EGP 120 million, which is considered the biggest in Egyptian movie history. The plotline follows Ahmed Kira and Abdelkader El Gin as they team up to fight the British occupation during the early 90s.
Taht Tahdeed El Selah (At Gunpoint)
Starring Hassan El Raddad, Mai Omar, and Shereen Reda, Taht Tahdeed El Selah features mysterious events that occur to Khaled (El Raddad) after he leaves his wife for his former girlfriend and ends up getting shot during the wedding.
Bahebek
Many viewers shared their mixed emotions after watching romantic flick Bahebek. The plotline follows Ali (Tamer Hosny), who’s caught between two lovers and becomes forced to choose between his future wife (Huda El Mufti) and his former lover (Hannah El Zahed).
3amohom
The action-filled comedy film, ‘Amohom follows Sultan (Mohamed Imam) AKA “’Amohom”, a boxer who runs into trouble with his trainer. Not only does the comedy flick feature a start-studded cast including the likes of Ayten Amer, Huda El Mufti, Mohamed Sallam, and Sayed Ragab, its hit song El Youm El Helw Da by Ahmed Saad also went viral during its release in the summer.
Ashab Wala A’az (Perfect Strangers)
The Lebanese-Egyptian Netflix film caused quite a stir in the Egyptian community for delving into taboo topics. The remake of the Italian film, Perfetti Sconosciuti starred Mona Zaki, Eyad Nassar, Nadine Labaki, and Diamond Bou Abboud. The events of the film spiral uncontrollably after a group of friends agree to play a game of honesty, which unveils shocking secrets that drive the friends apart.

When alignment becomes more than mere coincidence, the lives of three random people are entangled. In his directorial debut, Karim Abouzeid explores the thrilling events behind one lawyer’s (Eyad Nassar) suicide attempt that ultimately influences a chain reaction of events.
Wahed Tany (Another Person)
Ahmed Helmy’s latest comedy follows a social worker who restores his passion in life with a quirky invention. It was released in Eid El Fitr and is still being screened to this day, showing that Helmy’s undeniable presence has not lost its spark.
