For the fourth year in a row, The TriFactory is proud to present the Pyramids Half Marathon, Egypt’s flagship road running event, taking place annually at Egypt’s most famous historical destination and the world’s last remaining Wonder of the Ancient World: the Great Pyramids of Giza. The Pyramids Half Marathon takes thousands of runners on a tour of the Pyramids Complex, showcasing the three legendary pyramids of Pharaohs Khufu, Khafre, and Menkaure, as well as the six lesser ones built for their queens.

Inaugurated in 2019 with the attendance of HE Dr. Ashraf Sobhy, Minister of Youth & Sports, HE Dr. Khaled El-Enany, Minister of Antiquities, and HE Dr. Rania Al-Mashaat, Minister of Tourism, the Pyramids Half Marathon has proven to be a major local and international participation sports event, bringing in thousands of participants and regularly welcoming runners from over 80 nationalities.

For the first time in 2022, the Pyramids Half Marathon will be organized under the auspices of the Presidency of Egypt, as well as regular public bodies, including the Egyptian Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Egyptian Ministry of Tourism & Antiquities, as well as the Egyptian Tourism Promotion Authority. In addition, the race is technically supervised by the Egyptian Athletics Federation, ensuring that all distances are organized to exact international standards, in line with major running races worldwide.

Dr. Ashraf Sobhy, Minister of Youth & Sports, said:

Moreover, World and Olympic Champion and global sports icon Usain Bolt addressed the attendees at the official press conference via video, encouraging all runners to prepare for the race.

The 5K benefits from a relatively flat course, while the 10K and 21K will face the downhill stretch towards the Sphinx and back up.
