Egyptian artists Amir Eid, Afroto, and TV Host Ibrahim Fayek recently enjoyed an exclusive tour of Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys, courtesy of Spotify. On September 23rd, they witnessed a gripping FC Barcelona match against RC Celta de Vigo.
Besides enjoying the game, the three creators were welcomed and featured on FC Barcelona’s official channels. Spotify’s pitch-side LEDs were used to display Amir Eid’s “Wahashteeny and Afroto’s recent hit track “TA TA TA”, which echoed throughout the stadium, energizing thousands of football fans.
The partnership between Spotify and FC Barcelona brings the worlds of music and football together, giving a global stage to artists. Spotify has been supporting artists by showcasing their music on the LED boards for each fixture and using in-stadium screens to showcase the latest releases from musical icons from around the world. Names like Essam Sasa, Lauv, Calvin Harris, Megan Thee Stallion and Fireboy DML have been previously featured.
Afroto shared his excitement:
“Goes down in the books of Egyptian Rap that Afroto’s ‘TA TA TA’ played at the FC Barcelona match opening in Spain.”
After seeing his song on the LED board, Eid playfully remarked,
“Guess I was FC Barcelona’s lucky charm!”
Ibrahim Fayek, an avid FCB supporter, remarked on the experience:
“Witnessing my favorite club, which I’ve long supported through TV screens, play live was a dream come true. A huge thanks to Spotify for making it happen.”
The Spotify-FCB partnership started in July 2022, fusing the realms of music and football until the 2025/26 season.
