The production company Media Hub has decided to settle on the name “Resalet el Omam” (Message of the Imam) as the final name after previously being named “Imam Al-Shafi’i.” The series is scheduled to be aired in the upcoming Ramadan race of 2023.
The series stars Khaled El-Nabawy, Arwa Gouda, Jihane Khalil, Khaled Anwar, Walid Fawwaz, Hamza Al-Alawi, Ahmed Al-Rafie, Salma Abu Dhaif, and a group of Arab stars, including Syrians Khaled Al-Qeesh and Haval Hamdi, and Jordanian Farah Bsiso, among others whose names will be announced soon.
The production company has decided to hire a historical consultant to accompany the series’ team throughout the filming period, in addition to continuously reviewing the episodes by the Islamic Research Institute at Al-Azhar Al-Sharif, as well as having a linguistic consultant for the screenplay, especially since the work is presented in classical Arabic. Furthermore, the actors have been practicing horse riding and sword fighting.
The script and dialogue are under the supervision of the author Mohammed Hisham Abya, directed by the Syrian Laith Hajjo, and produced by Media Hub.
Imam Al-Shafi’i is the third of the four imams, according to Ahl al-Sunnah wa al-Jama’ah, the founder of the Shafi’i school of Islamic jurisprudence the founder of the science of usul al-fiqh.
He is attributed with several jurisprudential opinions and ancient fatwas. The series tackles the years that Imam Al-Shafi’i spent in Egypt, where he arrived in 198 AH/813 AD and delivered his lessons at Amr ibn al-As Mosque. Many Egyptian scholars emerged under his guidance.
