Costume Designer Reem El Adl has revealed interesting details on the costume design of the upcoming musical play Coco Chanel, which is headlined by the iconic Sherihan.
The play is slated to premiere on Shahid VIP as of July 20, 2021.
While enjoying a rich repertoire full of films and TV works, the new musical marks Reem El Adl’s first experience in designing costumes for a play. She commented on that, saying,
“It’s unbelievable! This musical play marks my first theatre experience, and I’m thrilled to work on such a significant project, starring the megastar Sherihan and telling the story of the legendary Coco Chanel”
Reem has indicated that she has designed costumes for the actors and dancers in the play, in addition to two dresses for Sherihan. She also mentioned that Sherihan’s costumes needed special designing details for some dramatic reasons that will be clear during the screening of the play.
“For me, the musical play was a very interesting experience that gave me the chance to learn a lot, especially through the pieces of advice I kept receiving from Sherihan about how to choose the designs and what materials fit the most for a musical play; giving her extensive theatre experience and knowledge. I loved the experience, and I hope we work together again in the future.”

Recently, Alexandria Short Film Festival has selected Costume Designer Reem El Adl as a jury member at the official jury of feature and documentary films within the festival’s latest edition in 2021. This comes as part of her continuous support to young filmmakers and her wide interest to participate in short films, where she has taken part in designing costumes for more than eight short films last year.
