The Oscars are switching things up this year and ditching their traditional red carpet for a champagne-colored one: The Champaign Carpet!
The decision was announced right before the show, and no one had time to adjust their dresses to fit. Just ask Jamie Lee Curtis.
The Oscars are switching things up this year and ditching their traditional red carpet for a champagne-colored one!
The decision was announced right before the show, and no one had time to adjust their dresses to fit. Just ask Jamie Lee Curtis.
The decision to switch things up came from creative consultants Lisa Love and Raúl Àvila, who wanted to make the event more glamorous and turn it into an evening affair.
What says glamour more than a beige carpet? Move over red, it’s time for a snooze-inducing sienna saffron color!
But don’t worry, they didn’t just change the color for the sake of it. Oh no, they covered the carpet to turn a day event into a night event.
We started watching with an open-mind about the change, but as the night go on, it just felt like a bunch of celebrities getting attacked by paparazzi in a corridor on the way to the actual red carpet.
It looked cheap and basic.
And what’s worse was the 2 red pillars on the photo wall.
And let’s not forget the most important part: what were we supposed to call it?
Champagne carpet? Fake Sand?
Don’t get us wrong; we appreciate it when creative directors try to be creative. But maybe get creative with finding funny hosts rather than change a carpet.
