FATE: THE WINX SAGA follows the coming-of-age journey of five fairies attending Alfea, a magical boarding school in the Otherworld where they must learn to master their powers while navigating love, rivalries, and the monsters that threaten their very existence.
From creator Brian Young (THE VAMPIRE DIARIES), FATE: THE WINX SAGA is a live-action reimagining of the Italian cartoon series WINX CLUB by Iginio Straffi.
Fate: The Winx Saga is an upcoming young adult drama series inspired by the Nickelodeon animated series Winx Club, created by Iginio Straffi.
Archery Pictures is produced in association with Rainbow, a studio co-owned by Iginio Straffi and ViacomCBS.
Straffi serves as an executive producer alongside showrunner Brian Young, Judy Counihan, and Kris Thykier.
Iginio Straffi had planned to adapt Winx Club into live-action as early as 2011.
Before starting production on the project, Straffi gained experience with live-action television shows, working as a producer for Nickelodeon’s Club 57.
Principal photography for Fate eventually began in September 2019 in Ireland.
The series is aimed at adult fans of the cartoon. Fate is co-directed by Lisa James Larsson and Hannah Quinn.
About Alfea:
The series takes place at Alfea; a fictional prestigious boarding school nestled deep in the protective forests of the Otherworld, a secret universe full of magic and monsters that runs parallel to our own.
Bloom (Abigail Cowen) is a 16-year-old fairy from the human world who didn’t know magic was real until a few months ago.
Now a fish out of water in her new home, Bloom will have to learn how to control her unpredictable powers — and fast.
At Alfea, students are trained in both magical and non-magical specialities. Fairies’ magical powers — from manipulating the elements to reading minds — are tied to their emotions, which can prove
particularly challenging for teenagers.
Specialists, the next generation of non-magical warriors, hone their talents in combat and weaponry. Alfea’s graduates have gone on to rule realms, lead armies, and discover long-lost magic. But first, they’ll all have to pass the most challenging test of all: Survive high school.

The Characters of Fate: The Winx Saga:
Bloom is a 16-year-old First Year and a Fire Fairy. Bloom was raised in the human world and didn’t
know magic was real until a few months ago when a tragic accident unexpectedly revealed her powers.
Impulsive, headstrong, and stubborn, Bloom is determined to understand and control her newfound powers. But she quickly discovers that there’s more to her past than she’s been told. And even in the Otherworld, her magic is unique — and possibly dangerous.
Stella is a 17-year-old Second Year and a Light Fairy. Beautiful, rich, and popular, Stella’s also literally royalty (her mother is the Queen of Solaria).
But there’s darkness and complexity beneath Stella’s polished exterior, and she’s determined to succeed at Alfea and uphold her family’s reputation — no matter the cost.
Aisha is a First Year and a Water Fairy. Disciplined, competitive, and patient, she’ll do whatever it takes to come out on top. Aisha’s power over water is the perfect complement to Bloom’s fiery personality.
But her perfectionism and her desire to do the right thing can sometimes put her at odds with her roommates.
Terra is a First Year and an Earth Fairy. She’s as strong and grounded as the element she commands.
Chatty, kind, and bitingly witty, Terra tends to put everyone else’s needs before her own. But she has
her limits and she’s learning when to set boundaries.
Musa is a First Year and a Mind Fairy. Her cool style and signature headphones can give the
the impression she’s standoffish often closed off to the world and lost in her music.
But as a Mind Fairy, Musa’s an empath who feels every emotion around her — thoughts, memories, dreams. For a teen fairy, that can be tough.
Sky is a Second Year and a Specialist. Charming, mature, and patient, he’s wise beyond his years. But his stability often attracts chaos.
His late father Andreas was a famous warrior, and after his death, Mr Silva became a father figure to Sky. His romantic history with Stella complicates his growing interest in Bloom.
