The family of Mohamed Moheb announced his death after he was attacked by a pit bull in the city of Sheikh Zayed, Egypt.
The victim was an official at one of the local banks and was mauled by the predatory canine in a well-known compound in the area.
The severity of his injuries led to his deteriorating health, and he was transferred to a private medical facility, where he was in a coma.
What Happened?
According to the victim’s family members and neighbors, Mohamed Moheb and his son observed the defendant’s dog on the balcony without a muzzle or restraint. They immediately went to the defendant’s residence to request that he muzzle and restrain the dog to prevent any undue panic among the community.
However, when the housekeeper opened the door, the dog attacked Mohamed Moheb savagely, and he was only saved by the intervention of nearby neighbors and the defendant’s son. As a result, the victim sustained severe injuries and was subsequently transferred to the hospital, where his heart stopped beating for a few moments before being successfully resuscitated.
Investigation of the Incident
The public prosecution began investigating the incident as soon as security authorities were alerted on February 17th, when Mohamed Moheb’s wife reported his injury, hospitalization, and entry into a coma after the attack. The prosecution heard from not only the victim’s family members but also his neighbors and three workers at the residential complex where the incident took place.
Detention of Dog Owner
Counselor Hamada Al-Sawy, the Attorney General, ordered the detention of the husband of TV host Amira Shanab, who stands accused of being responsible for the vicious dog attack in Sheikh Zayed, pending further investigation.
The defendant’s alleged negligence led to his neighbor’s serious injuries after he left the dog without proper restraint or muzzling. The animal launched a ferocious attack on the victim, causing him to fall into a coma.
Importance of Proper Dog Restraint and Muzzling
The tragic incident highlights the importance of proper dog restraint and muzzling. Dog owners must be responsible for their pets and ensure that they are properly restrained and muzzled when in public areas or around other people. Negligence on the part of a dog owner can lead to serious injuries and even death. It is essential to take all necessary precautions to prevent such incidents from happening.
Legal action against dog owners who do not properly restrain or muzzle their aggressive pets is necessary to prevent such incidents from happening. The detention of the defendant in this case sends a message to all dog owners that they must be responsible for their pets and take all necessary precautions to prevent harm to others. This will hopefully serve as a deterrent to other negligent dog owners and prevent similar incidents from happening in the future.
