New year’s eve celebration is always linked to parties, bling, and everything extra.
But for us, introverts, this is not the case. We would rather avoid all the fuss and enjoy some quality time by ourselves. This doesn’t mean that we wouldn’t fancy having some adventures from time to time. We love having fun but in our ways.
Whether you are an introvert or an extrovert who would like to take a break and have some me-time, here are some last-minute ideas to celebrate new year’s eve without any hassles.
1- Spend the night DIYing
2022 is about to start, and you don’t want your last year’s outdated decorations on. Maybe it’s time for a quick renovation. Changing your room’s décor is a good start. But why to spend a lot of money on decorations and ornaments when you can do it yourself… yes, you read it right!
You don’t need to be an artist or something to create festive decorations for your house. Just start playing around with papers and colors, and I promise once you start, you won’t want to stop.
And don’t be afraid of messing things up, cause perfect is boring!
2- Watch the firework shows
As a child, I’ve always been a massive fan of firework shows on new year’s eve. I remember waiting impatiently to see the fireworks going off at midnight. So try relaxing and enjoying the sight of fireworks going off at midnight from your balcony with your family and neighbors while wrapped up in your favorite scarf. You won’t regret it.
3- Bake some cookies
Let’s agree that baking can have a mysteriously calming effect.
It can magically fill the house with charming and warm vibes. The way the ingredients mix and the sweet smell of vanilla extract can turn your mood upside down. Try baking your favorite cookies, and it will surely cheer up your soul.
4- Have some me-time, slow things down, and reflect
2021 was pretty exhausting, huh?
Maybe it’s a good idea to slow down a little and reflect on your feelings. Mental health is no joke, and burying up your feelings, refusing to deal with them won’t make your problems just magically disappear. Taking time to process, face, and get through your feelings before starting a new year is just the right thing to do. Try to write them down or talk about them with the ones you trust, so you can start fresh without the burden of last year’s problems.
5- Watch your favorite movie
Why go out when you can literally spend the whole night watching classic holiday gems: home alone, new years eve, love actually. Just think about it!
New years eve celebrations can get a bit overwhelming. Whether you decide to go out or stay home, just make sure to be yourself, have fun, and let your personality shine …
