The Cairo International Film Festival (CIFF) has announced that the eminent Faten Hamama Award for Excellence will be granted to Egyptian director Kamla Abozekry
The CIFF 44th edition (13-22 November) will see Kamla Abu Zekry be honored for her outstanding career through the award.
Festival president, actor Hussein Fahmy stated that:
Kamla Abu Zekry is a talented director with a special touch on her works. She should be honored by a festival that appreciates art and supports the artists in Egypt and the world.
As for Kamla Abu Zekry, she expressed her contentment by sharing how honored she is to receive this award from the prestigious Cairo International Film Festival that bears the name of the legendary artist Faten Hamama, thanking the festival for choosing her.
Kamla Abu Zekry is an Egyptian director known for “Sana ola nasb” movie (2004), “Malek w Ktaba,” “An eleshk welhawa,” “Wahed Sefr,” and “18 Yom.” As for series, she is known for the series “100 Wesh,” “Zaat,” “Wahet Elghorob,” and “Segn elnesa” among other great works.
