Today, Sunday 11th of September, 2022, the Giza Criminal Court sentenced Judge Ayman Hajjaj and his partner in crime Hussein Al-Gharabli to death by hanging for killing his wife, broadcaster Shaimaa Gamal and will be receiving the legal opinion of the Grand Mufti of Egypt.
The court had considered the first session on July 20. Then on July 23, it ordered a ban on publishing the case in all print, audio, and visual media.
Ayman Hajjaj confessed before the court in the first session of his trial to murdering his wife, the broadcaster, and denied intentionally killing her. In contrast, his partner, the second accused, Hussein Al-Garabli, denied participating in the killing.
The Public Prosecutor had ordered the referral of the case in which the accused, a member of judicial authority, and the owner of a company be referred to the competent criminal court, with their continued detention pending trial.
And that is to punish them for what they were accused of killing the victim Shaima Gamal, the first wife, with premeditation.
It is worth noting that the investigations concluded that the first accused had intended to get rid of her, given her threatening to reveal their secrets, and her
bargaining for secrecy by requesting sums of money from him.
And the plan they agreed to is to rent a remote farm on which to kill her and hide her body in a shallow grave they would dig in, and for that, they bought tools for digging the grave.
On the day they set out to implement their plan, the first accused lured her to the farm, pretending to take her to the farm to buy it, while the second accused was waiting for him as their plan.
Moreover, he prepared a pistol and a piece of cloth to tighten her for killing and paralyze her resistance, chains, and iron handcuffs to transport the body to the grave after killing her. An incendiary substance to distort his features before burial.
