Members of an organized gang in Egypt confessed to possessing vast amounts of archaeological treasures and antiques in a 3 meters coffin, which they prepared to sell.

In one of the most decisive security strikes to combat excavation crimes, Alayoun El Sahera (watchful eyes) succeeded in seizing a gang in the Ain Shams area as part of the Ministry of Interior’s efforts to combat crime in all its forms, especially excavation crimes.

The topic became a trend in Egypt after the news was announced. The Social Media users commented that just as there are men whose goal is to waste the civilization of a people and sell it for cheap, there are watchful eyes that protect and defend our history.

Under the hashtag #بلد_الامن_والامان (translates to country of safety and security), Twitter users celebrate the arrest of the Ain Shams gang for smuggling antiquities.
