Marking her first leading role in Egyptian drama, Saudi actress Fatima AlBanawi was featured on one of the official posters of Shahid’s upcoming thriller series 60 Minutes.

Directed by Mariam Ahmady and written by Mohamed Hesham Obayya, the series is slated to premiere on September 16^th, 2021.

60 Minutes is one of Shahid Original series, where Fatima AlBanawi plays a complex role of a wife who faces a lot of psychological challenges. The series also stars Yasmin Raeis, Shereen Reda, Mahmoud Nsr, and Sawsan Badr

Fatima AlBanawi is a Saudi actress, director and writer. She was selected by Time Magazine as part of its Young Generation Leaders List (2018) for her storytelling ventures that highlight the intimate details of life in Saudi Arabia through her project The Other Story. Fatima received international acclaim for her leading role in Barakah Meets Baraka, the first Saudi film to screen at Berlinale and was Saudi Arabia’s official submission to the Academy Awards for Best Foreign Language.

Her most recent works in 2020 include the Egyptian series Paranormal that premiered on Netflix, and Shahid’s Saudi drama Al-Shak that she also co-wrote and co-directed.

Recently, her feature film screenplay Basma received fund from the Red Sea International Film Festival, which was announced within the activities of the 78^th Venice International Film Festival. In addition, AlBanawi was selected as a jury member at the Feature Film Competition within the 11^th edition of the Malmo Arab Film Festival in 2021.
