Egypt is finally stepping up its entertainment game, and it’s about time! In a move that could (hopefully) spare us from chasing international artists around the globe, the Administrative Capital for Urban Development (ACUD), Live Nation Middle East, and TicketsMarche are teaming up to bring major global concerts and events to the New Administrative Capital.
What’s the Deal?
This new partnership is expected to turn the New Administrative Capital into the ultimate entertainment hub, hosting over 10 major concerts and events in 2025 alone. The plan includes transforming People’s Square, Nation’s Park, and the Green River into world-class entertainment destinations that will attract massive international artists.
And while we’re thrilled about the idea of finally getting top-tier concerts at home, let’s be real—if Coldplay isn’t on the list, we’re going to have words. Egyptians have been practically begging for years, only to be met with endless teases and dashed hopes. We’ve followed them across continents (even after they became slightly irrelevant), so let’s just say Live Nation better come through this time.
The Big Players Weigh In
Eng. Khaled Abbas, Chairman and Managing Director of ACUD, said:
“The cooperation between the three parties aims to organize global entertainment events and concerts in line with global and Arab tourism trends, enhancing Egypt’s position on the global tourism map.
The collaboration also aims to elevate the entertainment industry in Egypt by hosting world-class shows that cater to all tastes and generations.”
James Craven, President of Live Nation Middle East, said:
“This collaboration is a testament to the region’s growing appetite for global entertainment.
Together, we aim to set a new benchmark for live events in the Middle East, creating unforgettable experiences that will put Egypt’s New Administrative Capital firmly on the global entertainment map.”
Mohamed Sirag, Managing Director and Chief Commercial Officer of TicketsMarche, said:
“This collaboration is about more than just hosting international acts; it’s about establishing Egypt as a premier entertainment hub, setting and exceeding global standards.
Together, we will create unforgettable experiences for audiences, while showcasing Egypt’s progressive vision and rich cultural heritage to the world.”
What This Means for Us
If all goes as planned (and they actually deliver on the hype), Egyptians might finally stop having to travel to catch international concerts. Imagine the savings on visa fees, plane tickets, and overpriced merch? The New Administrative Capital is setting itself up as the Middle East’s first smart city, and having a legit entertainment scene is a huge part of that vision.
So, will this partnership finally bring Coldplay to Egypt? Or will we continue our toxic, long-distance relationship with them? Only time will tell. But hey, at least we have something to look forward to.
