Today’s matches highlighted the excellent performance of Ahmed El Ahmar, Ramadan, Rayan, and Ammar. They are the golden boys of the day.

Football
Egypt’s football team made it to the Quarterfinals after beating Australia with a 2-0, and Spain’s match against Argentina was drawn at 1-1.

Journey in Tokyo 2020
After Sunday’s 0-1 loss to Argentina in their second Group C game of the Tokyo Olympics. The team also held to a 0-0 draw in their opening match against European heavyweights Spain.

Today’s match against Australia
Egypt started the game with confidence making many scoring chances until finally scoring a goal assisted by Ramadan Sobhi to the scorer Ahmed Rayan in 44′, going to the locker room with a 1-0 lead.
The 2nd half started, and Egypt was playing a defensive game to prevent Australia from scoring. The match highlighted the outstanding performance of Ramadan Sobhi and Goal Keeper Mohamed Elshenawy, making key blocks.
Ramadan Sobhi and Ammar Hamdy missed a goal after the ball returned from the post, and Mahmoud Hamdy elwensh and Akram Tawfik took our hearts after a dangerous play from Australia’s player in the last 15 minutes.
Ammar Hamdy ended the battle with the 2nd Goal in 85′ after a great assist from Nasser Mansy.
We still didn’t do our best, we played today with the same style we played in the previous matches. We took the risk because today we must win to qualify. The substitutes made the difference today. We know the next match is against Brazil but we have a MISSION and it’s football where nothing is IMPOSSIBLE.

Handball
The Egyptian men’s handball team claimed their second win in three group-stage matches after beating Japan 33-29 on Wednesday to edge closer to a place in the quarters. The Egyptian Handball team is making history.
Journey in Tokyo 2020
The Pharaohs kicked off their competition with an impressive 37-31 win over Portugal before slumping to a 32-27 loss to reigning world champions Denmark.
They are facing next Sweden on Friday, which is going to be a battle for second place.
Today’s Match against Japan
Egypt outplayed Japan in the first half, going to the locker room with a comfortable 18-11 lead. However, they took their foot off the gas pedal in the second period as Japan narrowed the gap, but Egypt survived a late scare to widen the gap again and finish with a four-goal advantage.
The match highlighted the comeback of winger Omar Bakkar with superb performance, scoring five goals with a scoring percentage of 71%.

Ahmed Elahmar, Egypt’s Golden Boy
Veteran player Ahmed El-Ahmar, who hinted that he would call it a day soon after a glittering career, was Egypt’s best performer with eight goals out of 10 shots. He became the team’s leading scorer in its Olympic history with 78 goals, one ahead of former star Hussein Zaki.
