The world’s most popular audio streaming subscription service, Spotify, announced Carole Samaha as its latest EQUAL Arabia Ambassador for February. Spotify kicked off the EQUAL Arabia program in the MENA region in March 2022 to amplify the work of Arab women artists through on-and-off platform support to help their music gain the visibility it deserves regionally and internationally.
An icon for women in music, Samaha holds a special place in the hearts of fans from the Middle East to Europe and the USA. Throughout the years, Samaha has scored countless hits and won regional and international awards. In 2004, she received the Arab Music Award for Best Female Newcomer. Internationally, she was awarded the World Music Award in Monaco for Best Performer in the Middle East in 2014 and two Daf Bama Music Awards in Hamburg for Best Female Act and Best Performer in the Middle East in 2016.
“I am very happy to be Spotify’s EQUAL Arabia Ambassador for the month of February and I am very proud to be supporting such a program since its launch in March 2022,”
said Samaha.
“It is amazing to see campaigns that succeed in supporting Arab women and helping them achieve their dreams. Supporting programs like EQUAL Arabia will continue to be my top priority as I hope to be able to contribute to more female success stories in the region.”
Today, her latest song, “Maghrooma Bemeen,” can be found on Spotify’s EQUAL Arabia and EQUAL Global playlists. She is also featured on the cover of the EQUAL Arabia playlist. Yesterday, Samaha’s face shone brightly on Spotify’s Times Square billboard to celebrate her journey and contribution to the music scene.
