The live series is hosted by Nadine Abdel Ghaffar Art, founder of Art D’Egypte, as well as her team, where they feature and have conversations with important figures in the arts & culture industries.

In this session, they invited Maria Fathy; Fashion stylist and Lifestyle editor of the magazine, Egypt Today. Egypt Today is Egypt’s first English publications and has held a solid reputation since it was founded in 1979.

Through their talk, Nour and Maria discussed how they find topics to write about, how to approach artists to features, art walks to inspiration and everything you might want to know to become an arts and/or lifestyle writer.

Born in Egypt, raised in Dublin, Ireland, Maria Fathy has always had a love for art and fashion. Fathy started her career at the young age of 19 in media and public relations. Through the skills gained and connections built, she decided to nurture her passion and make a career switch.

At just 25 years young, Fathy now has years of experience and is now juggling two full-time careers. She works as a freelance stylist and Lifestyle section coordinator at Egypt Today magazine, where she unfolds what Egypt’s artists have to offer. Moreover, she creates mixed media and digital collages, something that she discovered a love for when taking an art course with the renowned Egyptian pop artist Hany Rashed.

About Art D’Egypte:

Under the name “Forever is Now” the exhibition will show works by Egyptian and international artists along a trail around the Giza plateau. The exhibition is set to take place on the 23rd of October 2021 till mid-November 2021.

“This exhibition is a token of hope for humanity and a humble tribute to a civilisation that stands the test of time,” says Nadine Abdel Ghaffar, the founder of Art D’Egypte.

Abdel Ghaffar is selecting the artists together with Simon Watson, an independent curator and consultant, while the renowned Egyptian archaeologist Zahi Hawass will advise on the exhibition route.
