The BFI London Film Festival has announced that Amir El Masry’s film “See It, Say It” will be screened within the Short Film Competition at the 68th edition of the festival. The festival will take place from 9 to 20 October in London.
The short film tells the story of an optimistic Arab actor living hand-to-mouth who is summoned to an audition that could be his big break. However, his journey turns into a harrowing ordeal of bias and fear. Written and directed by Nez Khammal, See It, Say It stars Amir El-Masry, July Namir, and Madeleine Bowyer.
Most recently, the official trailer for Amir El-Masry’s new film In Camera has been released. The film is scheduled to be released in theaters in the UK and European countries on September 13.
In Camera follows Aden, a young Actor who is in a cycle of nightmarish auditions. After he receives multiple rejections, Aden takes it upon himself to find a new part to play. Written and directed by Naqqash Khalid as his debut film as a director, In Camera stars Amir El-Masry, Nabhaan Rizwan, Rory Fleck Byrne, and Hussina Raja.
It is worth mentioning that Amir El-Masry has received positive critical acclaim for his role in the British film In Camera, which had its premiere at the 57th Karlovy Vary International Film Festival within the Proxima competition.
On the other hand, Amir El-Masry is shooting his scenes in Giant. In the film, El-Masry plays the role of the British Yemeni fighter Prince Naseem Hamed. Giant is the true story of Hamed’s humble beginnings on the tough working-class streets of Sheffield in the face of the rampant Islamophobia and racism of 80’s and 90’s Britain.
In addition to Amir El-Masry, Giant stars Pierce Brosnan, alongside a number of stars, and Sylvester Stallone as the Executive Producer.
