Given the weather conditions that Alexandria governorate is going through, the Alexandria Mediterranean Film Festival administration determined to start the festival activities on time with shows and symposiums of the honorees and cancel the opening ceremony.

The festival’s first screenings will begin tomorrow with the Renaissance Cinema, the Center for Freedom and Creativity, and the Alexandria Atelier.

The honorees ’seminars will also start at the Ezzat Al-Alaili Hall in Sheraton Al-Montazah, and the Alexandria Cinema Celebration will be held on the festival’s closing ceremony at 7 pm Thursday, November 12, 2020.

The Alexandria Mediterranean Film Festival administration additionally will honour the stars throughout their seminars.

The honouring will begin with a conference named after the late director of photography Abdel Aziz Fahmy, within the presence of the daughter of Latifa Fahmy and her sister Nelly Fahmy.

Later, there will follow a seminar of the great actor Farid Shawky within the company of the star’s family, Rania Farid Shawky and her sister, director Abeer Farid Shawky and his wife, Mrs Soheir Turk, will conclude tomorrow’s seminars with a seminar by the legendary director Inas El-Deghidi.

The festival administration thanked Dr Enas Abdel Dayem, Minister of Culture, and Major General Mohamed El Sharif, Governor of Alexandria, for their support for the festival’s activities and events.

They will be taking precautionary measures and not holding any closed celebrations according to the Cabinet’s decision.
